# Before printing the full Jimny V2 kit These are four alternatives, not four things that must all go in the car. Start with the capsule for portability or the cassette for everyday retrieval. ## Ask your friend for these photos 1. The open glovebox straight-on, with a ruler across its narrowest usable width. 2. A side/top view showing usable floor depth and the opening/lid sweep. Include the latch. 3. Folded sunglasses next to a ruler: maximum length, width and height, including curved arms. 4. If choosing cargo pods: the actual restrained cargo bag/box and its internal usable footprint. Tell us model year, variant and manual/automatic transmission. Do not remove trim, disturb airbags or undo factory fasteners to measure. ## Cheap test order 1. Print the paper footprint at 100%; check the 50 mm scale bar with a real ruler. Printer dialogs often shrink SVGs to fit. 2. Cut the outline from cardboard and add spacers to match its stated closed height. A flat footprint alone misses lid clearance. 3. Check insertion and removal, narrowest internal taper, closed glovebox latch, documents/manual access and ability to remove the whole assembly for servicing. 4. Print the small mechanism coupon in the material/orientation you intend to use. Do not scale the full STL to fix a tight slider. 5. Print one chosen assembly, check part count and required hardware from its individual instructions, and test on a bench before considering any in-car use. ## Operating rules Operate these concepts only while parked. Take the swivel valet out and open it on a stable surface outside the car; its open footprint is larger. Close and secure contents before travel. Do not leave open drawers/lids or unrestrained items in the cabin. A printed catch holds parts together; it does not secure the assembly to the vehicle. PLA is for removable fit mockups. PETG may also creep or deform in a hot parked car. Final material, retention, print-process settings, heat resistance and durability still need testing. No claimed vehicle fit, crash rating or physical print validation.
